# Start Here — Songs for Centuries Website

This folder is the Songs for Centuries website project. Here is how to open and
work on it on **another device** using **VS Code**.

## What's in this folder

| File | What it is |
|------|-----------|
| `SongsForCenturies_COSMIC.html` | The deep-space themed landing page (the "v3" design) |
| `SongsForCenturies_VIBRANT.html` | The full 14-section website (black & gold concert theme) |
| `SongsForCenturies_Project.md` | The complete project brief, brand spec, and to-do list |
| `README.md` | Notes on editing and publishing the site |
| `START-HERE.md` | This file |

## To just LOOK at the websites

**Double-click** either `.html` file — it opens in your web browser.
Everything is inside that one file. (It loads the fonts and the spinning globe
from the internet, so be online the first time you open it.)

## To EDIT the project in VS Code

1. **Install VS Code** — it's free: https://code.visualstudio.com
2. Open VS Code, then **File → Open Folder…** and choose this folder.
3. All the files appear in the left sidebar. Click a `.html` file to edit it.
4. To see a change: save the file (Ctrl+S), then double-click the file to open
it in your browser. (Or install the "Live Preview" extension in VS Code for
   an instant preview.)

## To keep working with Claude (the AI assistant)

This project was built with **Claude Code**, which runs *inside* VS Code.
On the new device:

1. In VS Code, click the **Extensions** icon on the left (the four squares).
2. Search for **Claude Code** and click Install.
3. Sign in with your account, then open this folder — you can continue right
   where you left off.

## About the phone preview

The temporary "tunnel" link and QR code used to preview the site on a phone
were tied to the original computer and do not last. To preview on a phone from
the new device, just ask Claude Code to **"set up a mobile preview"** again.
